how do i get my guitar to sound like steve morse’s from deep purple?

how would i get my fender stratocaster to sound like steeve morse’s guitar in the song “sometimes i feel like screaming” using a roland cube 30 amp, boss ds-1 distortion pedal and a digitech rp 200 multi effect pedal? if that is even possible

I assume your are talking about the live version. If not I have supplied the link. For starters Steve doesn’t play a Strat he plays a custom MusicMan, with 2 Dual Coil and 2 single coil pickups that are custom wound with coil taps. That gives him that fat sound that Strats usually don;t have by themselves. Aside from that he uses a ton of effects on this song. Noticeably distortion, digital delay, chorus and reverb. Additionally from the sound it seems he has a piezo effect which makes the guitar sound more like an acoustic then an electric. You can hear it on the first part of the song. Plus he uses a technic where he plays a harmonic note with his picking hand which is heavily processed. You will probably have to work some with the effects pedals you have to get close to the sound. Check out Steve’s web page. I have seen him live several times and he has a monster set of floor pedals and rack gear so start saving your money if you really want to sound like him.
