Should I buy a G&L Legacy Tribute or a Fender American Standard Strat?

I’ve been saving money for a nice electric guitar and have a little less than 1k to spend. I can either get a new Fender American Strat for around $800 or a new G&L Legacy Tribute for around $500. I’d like a made-in-the-usa Legacy, but those are too expensive for me. Should I go with the American Strat or a Legacy Tribute and why?

I don’t even know. I just found out what an electric guitar was whenn I was like 11.
