fender standard stratocaster mim
Fender Standard Stratocaster or Fender Standard HSS Stratocaster?

Im thinking about maybe getting a new guitar soon. Right now Im trying to decide between the Fender Standard (MIM) Stratocaster and the Fender Standard (MIM) Stratocaster with a humbucker (HSS). I mainly play 90s alternative/grunge/punk (Mostly Nirvana) and I dont know which guitar would be better for this kind of music. And if one of these would be better, would it be a big difference between the other guitar or would it just be a very small difference?? thanks

As far as sound goes the H-S-S is going to have a better modern rock tone because the humbucker has a bit more power and presence than a single coil. A humbucker by its very nature produces far less noise than single coil pickups when using distortion. You can get a mini humbucker for a strat with 3 singles. It is the same size as a standard single coil but gives you humbucking performance features
