what is a decent amplifier for a stratocaster guitar?

in terms of sound, cost & portability!! please only mention stores near queens!! new york thanks.

I want one where you dont have to use your feet. just plug & play.

It sort of depends on what kind of music you want to play.

If you want to play all hard-rock, metal, punk, etc. it is generally agreed that these amps do the best job:
Marshall, Vox

For blues and country:
Fender, Peavy

Some amplifiers can be made to sound like others (quite well). They are called modelling amps:

For your guitar, I would go with the cheapest model of whatever brand you pick — in the class of music you want to play. I don’t know of any music stores in Queens. I’m sure there are dozens, though. Just look in the yellow pages for music stores.

BTW, if you want to get a metal rock sound, you’ll have no choice but to get at least one foot pedal. Start off with one distortion pedal and once you learn and get better at playing, you can get more of them.
