fender standard stratocaster hss electric guitar

is a standad stratocaster any better than a standard strat hss?

ok im looking at two guitars. they are both fender strats. one is a Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar. the other is a Fender Standard HSS Stratocaster Electric Guitar. they are both the same price. does the humbucker single single make much of a difference?

I have both and I use them for the different sounds that they produce. I modified my classic cream strat into an HSS, and love it. The HSS gives me richer bottom tones and more of a rounder sound when I do not use light gage strings (Love my 9′s). The STD strat can be a bit more throaty, and also has great sustain naturally. The string gage also comes into play here, as does the amp and FX you use. Can you test them side-by-side for a one on one comparison? That might be the best way to find the tones you are looking for in either guitar. If you can do this, find out what gage strings each have. I will venture to think that the HSS has a heavier string set. Good luck and drop me a line when you have made your choice, if you like. GL
