Not sure whether or not to shop online…?

Looking for a Fender Mexican Standard Stratocaster, but no music shop near where I live has them. I have searched online, and found some great deals on a site called projectmusic.net, which i found in Guitarist. (The Magazine). I’ve never ordered online before, and i’ve always thought it’s better to try a guitar out before i buy it. Any advice? Thanks.
