fender squire showmaster

Repost!!! I need an answer today!!! Guitar problem?
I have a fender squire showmaster, its 7 years old and in good condition. The problem is that even when plugged in with the amp and guitar on full volume, i’m still drowned out by drums. This never used to happen, the problem is definitely with the guitar as i’ve tried other guitars in my amp and it works fine. Any ideas of what could be wrong with the guitar and how i fix it? I have a gig on wednesday so please answer fast!

Hello! Check your output jack on the guitar. The contacts may need cleaning, or the tab contacting the jack tip may need to be bent inward to maintain better pressure. Check to see if the pickups have shifted away from the strings, possibly needing adjustment. If the volume control is scratchy, rotate it quickly back and forth to temporarily clean off the wiper and contact surface. If all this fails, you will need to troubleshoot the electronics, looking first for separated wires or poor solder joints. Clean off the contacts on your pickup selector switch with rubbing alcohol. If you don’t use the tone control regularly, temporarily wire it out of the circuit to see if that helps. You could be having a problem with your pickup windings, but that is much less likely. Hope some of this helps; I hate it when the drummer is louder than me! Best regards, Dana
