My bass has a hollow sound that I really like, how I can fix it?

I just bought a Squier Standard P Bass Special 5 5-String Bass and is it a really hollow noise every time I play, is that the strings? pills? bridge? 5-standard bridge saddle roll one mid precision Jazz coil Jazz pickup-only bridge pickup Medium Strings Fender 7250 What I can change to get rid of "jazz" noise rock i play hole, alternative and punk rock

It's just my opinion but probably should not have bought a Squire. You must have at least gotten a Mexican Standard if he could not afford an American. Are you playing through a cheap amp? … It might be that. Or the bass has to be "creating" new channels … also if they are old. I use GHS Boomers … at a reasonable price and great sound.
