Beginner guitarist..need some help with guitar and strings?

need a more compact version..full size is too big for me. so which of these minis would you most recommend:

Ibanez DT100CENT
Ibanez IJAE5BK
Ibanez IJC50
Squier® by Fender® MC-1

thanks for your help!

also, a question about strings…are nylon easier on the fingers than steel?

OK I’d recommend the Ibanez IJC50 for a start.

The Nylon strings are definitely easier on the fingers for a beginner

I’m not sure how small the DT100CENT is , but since it’s a kidguitars.com it might be a 1/2 size guitar which unless you are 8 yrs old might be a bit small.

The Other Ibanez is a full size guitar.

The Fender might be OK, But the music teacher had mixed reviews of the 26 of them she had in her classroom.

I’ve heard some good things about Ibanez acoustics, So I’ll recommend the Classical Ibanez Jam Pack.

I learned on a smaller classical guitar myself since I have small hands( and was 8 yrs old at the time)

Nylon strings are bigger and softer and it’s easier to learn the right way to press down the strings to get a good tone. Also the smaller neck of the 3/4 classical is more like the neck width of an full size acoustic, so if you ever get to an electric guitar or acoustic the width will be similar. The length of the frets is shorter so you’ll have an easier time stretching for chords though on the 3/4.

They make 3/4 steel sting guitars too, like the Yamaha JR1 or the Little Martin.

Also 3/4 electrics.

But I’d stay with the 3/4 classical with nylon strings right now

BTW, You cannot interchange strings between a classical guitar and a steel string acoustic.
Each type of string is meant for that one type of guitar, and cannot be mounted on the other type of guitar.

“The Ocean”, shimmer, and “The Ocean” again
