Is a Fender SQUIER Strat a good beginner guitar? Is it a good guitar?

I know that the regluar Strat blows the Squier out of the water but I don’t have deep pockets. I am a beginner and I need a cheep electric guitar. Is the Squier Strat worth the buck?

Squier I would rate as sufficient as a beginner’s guitar. Like many cheaper made guitars they will go out of tune quicker than a more expensive guitar, and not have the same sound quality. Also, the resale value will not be that great if you decide to sell it. May I suggest a look at two websites before you invest. Musiciansfriend.com or Samash.com. They have competitive prices and for a few dollars more you may decide to go with something a bit better. Good luck with your playing.
