Fender Precision Bass: Rosewood or maple?

So I'm looking to buy a Fender Precision Bass and I was wondering if I should get a wooden fingerboard pink or maple. What is the difference and what should be the factors that determine my choice? If you care at all I want to play things like Blink-182, The Offspring, Green Day, Zeppelin and other bands. And some funk and cumbia. Thank you. What you wear out faster than the other?

some people can hear the difference (maple is the brighter of the two) but I can not, so go with which looks best on bass.
