Will drop D tuning damage my guitar?

I heard that if you always keep your guitar in drop d tuning, the neck will get messed up. Is this true. In my case, I have a standard MIM fender stratocaster. Also how can I tell if the neck is bent. (is it really obvious or am i supposed to hear a difference). Thanks for all your help.

Drop D tuning with certainly not damage your guitar unless it is set up for extremely high tunings

if your neck were to become warped it would sound different and you would be able to tell by feel and sight
