fender m 80 guitar amp

What kind of guitar amp should i get?
I’ve been playing guitar for a little over 3 years now, but have only excelled in the past year or so. I’m thinking i should get a tube amp, but many are out of my price range. ($800 canadian or less). I play pretty much everything from clean to metal. I don’t really have any sound i am attached to, so versatility would be nice. I have been looking at the Peavey ValveKing 212, but i think it might be too big, since i will be playing 95% of the time in my house and the other 5% with a drummer or performing. Any other recommendations? I’ve also considered a fender hot rod deluxe, roland cube 80.
The HRD would do you nice, and it takes pedals very very well.
As far as buying amps goes, go used if you can. A used Mesa/Boogie F-Series might be what you’re looking for as well.
Also, a used Roland Jazz Chorus. They have AMAZING cleans, and can take pedals extremely well also.
EDIT: Don’t listen to the Spider III guy. Spiders (with the exception of the Spider Valve) are practice amps, not gigging amps. Also, speaking of Line 6, look at a used Flextone. Same modeling engine as the Vetta.
