Which Is Better? A Fender Standard Mexican Strat or a Fender Lonestar Strat?

I am unsure on what guitar to get, the lonestar has a humbucker but im not entirely sure if that makes it better, please help??
Thanks, i want like a bon jovi sort of country rock sort of sound. And the lonestar is like 150 pounds more than the standard so it must have some extra qualities??

I have to agree with Jim. You could say in some way that the guitar picks you. I own a Jackson Dinky and a Schecter Hellraiser. I like the way the necks feel. I like having bigger frets, it makes it easier to chord and much more comfortable for me to play over long periods of time. Go to a music store, pick out some of your favorite guitars and maybe a few that just catch your eye. Sit down at an amp(I say that because I live near a Guitar Center), and just play. You will find that one guitar will speak to you because it makes you a better player. Don’t be concerned about who makes it. If you buy strictly because somebody says buy a Gibson you could wind up with a guitar that is a pain in the @$$ to play. And then you’ll lose interest and wind up with an expensive dust collectible. You could own a $1500 guitar and play it like shit, while a talented player can make a $300 guitar sound like its being played by Joe Satriani.

I like jim’s comment about the amp, and mine by adding maybe some multi effect modeling pedals like a digitech. I can make a BC Rich Warlock sound like a Fender Telecaster or BB King’s Lucille. That’s something you may also want to research. The modeling pedals have presets for many different types of tube amps from different generations that have had an impact on the genre. That’s also one of the beauties of having a multi effect modeling pedal (I like digitech, others have thier own preferences) you can go from playing like Scott Ian of Anthrax, to BB King, to Eddie Perez with a flick of a toe.

An artist may have a specific type of guitar, but what many don’t realize is that they have different pickups than those that came with it. Perfect example is David Gilmour’s Stratocaster from Pink Floyd.
