Would it be possible to build a bass guitar like this?

I want to build a custom bass like this (I drew the picture). It’s a rough sketch and not really to scale. I know I would probably have to make the wings a little narrower. I was thinking of using an alder body blank, a maple paddle-head Fender neck, and standard Jazz Bass pickups. I would probably use my own Fender Jazz Bass for a rough template. So, if you have any experience, does it seem possible, or is there some obvious problem with the desing that I’m overlooking?

Personally, I would have the wings come back along the body. I guess all you can do is experiment until ur happy with it. I cant see any reason why it couldn’t be done, based on a J bass. The wings may restrict your left arm movements, but again, its a case of trying different things until you find a setup that works. Good luck.
