Why has Fender lowered the prices of their jazz basses on Musicians Friend?

I just looked at the website, and The road worn jazz bass is 1099.00 and it was 1250.00. Also the Marcus Miller bass dropped quite a bit as well. Any reason? Are they being made in a different factory other than Japan or Mexico?

Mostly due to the economy. When the recession was “declared”, Fender initially raised prices by about 30%. However, as a result, their sales tanked, and as a result, they started by giving rebates to buyers of their standard lines. Now, they’ve followed the trend of generally decreasing prices like what everyone else is doing.
