fender jam amplifier

Guitar Amp Problem with Inputs?
I have a Fender 212R amplifier that is about a year old. I carry it often back and forth to school and to small jam sessions with friends, but today it wouldn’t play anything. The amp will turn on, but when I plug in, nothing happens. I tried turning all the controls as high as they would go, volume to the max, etc but I couldn’t get anything. I though it might be the guitar, so I tried just tapping the cable end but all I get is a little jingling noise that is barely audible even with my ear to the amp. I tried different cables, guitars, everything. I am sure something is blown or fried, but can anyone tell me what it is and how to fix it and/or if i should opt for a professional technician?
If you’ve ruled out the guitar and the cable (which is sounds like you have), then it’s got to be the amp. As far as fixing it, unless you’ve got some electronics experience then I would say take it to a tech. I’ve had people bring me amps that they tried to “fix” themselves. A lot of times, it costs them more because I have to undo their “fix” in order to get to the real problem.
The problem with your amp could be as simple as a loose connection. It could also be a faulty solder joint or a failed component. There’s no real way to diagnose a nondescript failure like this without the amp in front of me.
Good luck.
