Is The Fender Jaguar Bass A Decent Bass?

Im asking because I am looking to get a new bass. I have a price limit. I can get anything up to $700. I like the Jaguar Bass but I’m not sure how good a bass it is. Please help me!

It has a lot to do with what you want it for. Do you want a 4 string or 5 string? Are you going to be playing Rock, Jazz, or Blues (or whatever)? With a $700 limit, you are pretty much open to 75% of the bass market. Obviously, don’t feel like you have to spend it all to get a quality bass. A Fender bass that’s like $400 might serve you better than a Gibson at $650, etc. Go and play some at the store (that’s what they are there for). See what you like, once you get a feel for it. Besides, you can’t go wrong with Fender.
