heavy guitar sound?

Alrite I'm using a fender start with standard spring pads Marshall 100w half stack. I just want another guitar which has a heavy metal sound to play. what would be some good choices? now I'm thinking of a dean, jackson or bc rich, but I'm nothing together. O I only wish to have a 24 fret neck to play some solos Mustaine. thanks
