fender guitars serial numbers
Need help with Fender guitars!?

I just bought what was listed as a "1998 Fender Stratocaster 1960 reissue." When I did, was very good and everything seemed fine. But as I was looking at the Fender website, I noticed that the serial numbers with more MN8 5 digits are 1998 but my MN8-digit serial number plus 6 more. This is my first time owning a Fender and I just want to be sure everything is 100% authentic. In my stratocaster, which says "Made in Mexico" and at the front of the head, is the Fender brand name, "Stratocaster" and "original contour body." If anyone knows anything about how to tell a Fender Stratocaster (real one), apart from a fake, could you help me? I hope that this purchase was a good – and I do not spend on something false.

I know that Fender Strats made in Mexico, I have one. They are less expensive, and American made are better than Mexico, but remain the instruments of very good quality. Fender probably call and give them the serial number and could probably see to see if it is real or not.
