IS A SQUIER A FENDER!! GUITAR HELP ?

hey i was just wondering if a squier was a fender.. on the page it says backed by fender and it also says check out more products by fender.. also on the squier website it says squier by fender so im kind of confused as far as i no fender is a really nice expensive brand but squier is only like 200 – 400 bucks .. Squier is a brand of guitars owned by Fender. They’re essentially Fender guitars, but made with lower-grade materials and equipment, and a lower price.

They’re meant as cheap guitars for beginners, people with tight budgets and people who need a decently priced road/throwaway/backup guitar.
