Is a fender starcaster a good electric guitar to play for beginners?

i was at sams club today and i was thinking about buying an electric guitar about 6 months ago, and i saw that fender starcaster one, it is $165 which includes a digitar guitar tuner, 10 watt amp, dvd tutorial video, strap, and stand and pick, is this a good first guitar for me?

Well, if you want it to come with everything then yeah its not bad deal. I would reccomend getting a epiphone les paul 100 guitar which is from $180-250 and will save you a lot of money in the future becuase once you get this guitar, you wont want to get another. It plays very well. As for an amp, check out the Roland micro cube amps. they may look small but are very loud and it comes with a tuning fork so you wont need to buy a tuner. For tutorial videos, try checking out the Rockhouse method dvds which run about $20 but they will teach you almost everything you need to know about guitars(you can always search youtube for some guitar lesson videos). All of this may run you over $300 but its worth every penny.
