how do i rewire my guitar amp anyone?

hey i’ve herd of people rewiring there guitar amps wether there 38 watts or 100 watts to have much more power(watts) such as 100 to 200. and such. any body know how to do such a thing? also if there is no way does anybody have any ideas to do to my amp to give it more power. it’s only a fender (brand x) 38 watt amp. and i need it to be louder and i can’t afford a better one. thanks for the tips.

Hi,
No you can’t just rewire an amp and get more power (you could rewire a stereo amp for mono and use the two channels together for more power but not with a guitar amp).

You can’t give it more power. These days low power amps are regarded very well and if you need it to be louder because you are playing to an audience then use a microphone in front of your amp and feed the microphone signal into a PA.

The only safe way to make your amp louder is to find a more sensitive (efficient) speaker and replace the one in your amp with the more efficient one. In that case replace the speaker like for like in terms of power rating (how much it can handle) and impedance (ohms).

Since amplifier power ratings depend on the impedance of the load (i.e. the speaker) you could replace your speaker with a lower impedance one but I do not recommend that as it is possible to fit a speaker that is too low an impedance for the amplifier and damage the amp.

As an alternative, how about using a boost pedal to increase the signal from your guitar into the amp? That will produce a louder sound up to a point.
