fender frontman amp

This is a great little package from Fender which includes everything you need to get started on your way to learning electric guitar. In this article we’ll look at exactly what’s included in the package and how best to put it all to use.
The call sign of this guitar and amp package from Fender is ‘stop dreaming, start playing’ and I think that sums up the mindset of a lot of kids who would be interested in buying this guitar/amp combo. It includes a Squire Affinity Stratocaster and a Frontman 15 watt amp, also from Fender. It’s nice to also have a tuner, cable, gig bag and guitar strap thrown into the package for convenience.
As with most of these kinds of starter electric guitar packages you’ll get an instructional DVD but most people find them pretty useless for learning to play so you’ll probably end up looking for lessons online or going to a local tutor.
The Affinity Stratocaster has the standard design of 3 single coil pickups with the customary 5 way pickup selector. The body of the guitar is hardwood while the fretboard is made from rosewood and is loaded with 21 frets. The tuners are die cast chrome and this guitar is equipped with the standard fulcrum bridge.
Turning our attention to the amp the Front man 15G is styled to copy the classic Fender Blackface with it’s silver grill cloth. The sound is decent from them however it’s a clean tone amp and if you want any kind of good sounding distortion you’ll have to invest in multi effects pedal to put in front of it. Luckily these are quite cheap and you’ll also get a lot of other very useful effects such as reverb, delay and chorus thrown in.
The amp has switch-able channels from normal to drive and an AUX in just in case you want an input for a microphone, CD or drum machine. It’s a small starter package and well priced for what you get. In a year when you are better at playing you can always invest in better setup.
