Anybody Remember The Fender Esquire?

Jeff Beck still has one…basically a stripped Tele.

BTW, a decent, original one will fetch right about $35K at this point in time. I actually saw one at Guitar Center in LA once.

Thoughts?
…actually a Tele is an upmarket Esquire. Sorry. LOL

J. Beats me. LOL I’ve got a lefty Merle Haggard Tele Custom, so I don’t deal with that. LOL I also have a lefty Rick 620.

Don’t forget that Bruce uses one as his main axe.
Odd marketing strategy: Esquires were all supposedly routed for the neck pickup. Just that the bodies were cosmetically rejected as Teles.
I believe one of the three positions on the switch put an extra capacitor in parallel to kill the treble, giving The Esquire growl, I believe the third position bypassed the tone control ala the Strat bridge position.
