I bought an inexpensive Fender acoustic-electric guitar kit (approx $150)?

I bought an inexpensive Fender acoustic-electric guitar kit (approx $150). I am experiencing some “string rattle” when playing.. are there ways that I can correct this (like by lifting the strings further away from the fretboard), or is a better, more expensive guitar the only solution?

Sometimes a adjustment to the bridge, saddle or nut is necessary to lift the strings to solve this problem.

A more expensive guitar is not the answer. A proper “set-up” is. If you are uncomfortable fooling around with the parts, most guitar shops offer a simple set-up for around $25.
