Silly question for all of you philanthropists out there:?

This is going to sound ridiculous, so I’m going to cut to the chase…
Ever since I started playing guitar, it has been my dream to own the signature Eric Clapton Fender Stratocaster from Fender’s custom shop. Only one roadblock… it costs about $3,000 and the proper amp would be very high too. So my silly question is: is there anyone out there who is generous and able to help me out??? I know that I will simply not be able to buy it for another 10 years at least… your constructive advice and help is appreciated; please don’t bother responding if all you want to do is rip me apart. Thanks

Hello! You could always make up a cardboard sign that says “Will work for Clapton guitar”; however, that would be just as pointless as waiting for someone to come along and buy you the cherished guitar out of the goodness of their heart! My suggestion would be to buy a nice pre-owned American Standard Stratocaster with the black body and maple fretboard, and install the Fender Noiseless pickups, TBX control, and mid-range boost circuitry; for less than $1000, you will have created a very close replica of the Eric Clapton “Blackie”, which will even sound pretty near to the Custom Shop version. Nothing against the Fender Custom Shop guitars, but even though the quality level is slightly higher than the American Standards and Deluxes, they are way overpriced. Just something to consider, while you are waiting for that generous philanthropist to come along. Best regards, Dana
