Epiphone vs. Fender?

Rite Now I'm looking for a Epiphone Les Paul Custom and standard epiphone Home HH i wounder what would be best for me. I first played rock indie rock and classic rock and some jazz. So what would be versatile enough to play all these styles and I also want good solo tone of it too.
