Acoustic-electric Guitars?

I am going to buy a Acoustic-electric Guitar but i cant figure out which one is better a Fender or an Ovation. The Fender that i like is a Fender Classic Design Series CD60CE Cutaway Dreadnought which is $270

The Ovation is a Ovation GC057 Celebrity Super Shallow Bowl Acoustic-Electric Guitar which is $300 THX

I’m not a big fan of either, either (haha, that sounds funny).

The Ovations have always felt awkward to me and the cheaper ones always sound sort of “tinny” to my ear. Not a lot of body or richness to the sound.

The quality of Fender acoustic guitars has never really impressed me.

I play an Alvarez acoustic/electric which I bought for about $300 with the hardshell case and everything. It was well worth it. I love the way it plays and sounds. Many guitarists who have played it say it plays like a much more expensive guitar. I’ve also played a few Taylors, and though most of them seem to be ridiculously expensive, even their lower-priced models are great quality. Additionally, Epiphone’s mid-range acoustics have always made a good impression on me. A friend of mine once had a Seagull acoustic/electric that was very good for a $300 guitar.

If you really do like both of the guitars you mentioned, it’s just down to sitting down with both of them back-to-back and playing them. Whichever one feels and sounds better to you is the one you want to buy. But I encourage you to broaden your horizons and seek out other possibilities before you buy.
