Why was this Electric Guitar so cheap? Guitar Center?

i got it in the brown sunburst color. it was $440 at guitar center and came with a $56 bag like all fenders do. they said it was NOT used, and was on clearance because it was the last one and they didn’t sell it.
why was it so cheap

Fenders made in Mexico are NOT worth more than US made ones – and i have the same color as the one online, they have 2 to choose from on the link i sent, the one i got is right below the big picture.

Nice guitar. Ok… from what ive found on other websites, no one has that guitar. Its a good possibility the Classic 60′s players Strat might have been discontinued. American Musical, ZZounds, Sam Ash.. they all have the Classic Jaguar, Jazzmaster, 50”s Strat. If that is a current production model, the only thing ive found Fender is making is the U.S. made version, at 2899.00 street price.
So.. if it is a clearence, they probably made 40 bucks or so on it. Mark up is EXTREMELY high on any guitar. By the way, I worked for Guitar Center briefly, did purchasing, so I know the mark-up on products. Even if not a discontinued product, theres a good chance its been on the wall for a long time. Which means that particular serial number on the guitar has been in the computer for a long time. Products HAVE to move over a set period of time in any retail establishment. If not, they drastically reduce the price to cost or just slightly above cost to move it. I recently got a 5 string 2005 model bass off of another site…. brand new… and saved almost 70 percent of what it ran in 05. Count your blessings my friend. Like another said, sometimes a product not sold is there loss and OUR gain!

EDIT: Interesting.. picture of guitar is Sonic Blue.. as it says so.. some one else says its another blue. Mexican Fenders worth MORE than Amercican Fenders? WHERE????? show me….
