What do you think of the made in mexico fender basses?

I’m using a squier affinity p bass right now and it sounds ok but i wanted to get something better. I can’t decide if i want to put better pickups in them or go for something like a standard mexican p bass and put better pickups in them. Overall do you think the quality of the standard basses are good? Like no fret buzz, smoother playing, and stuff. I was also considering buying an american vintage reissue J or P bass what do you think of their quality?

mexican P-basses are a huge step up from a squire.

I put a Baddass II bridge and Duncan 1/4 pounders on mine and it kick the snot out of almost everything.
