What would be the best pickups for an old fender precision bass?

I am a beginner and prefer more lows than mids or highs.

It all depends on your style.

EMG’s and Rockfields are good for metal, along with Semour Duncan. I have heard that Di Mizario is a good for lighter rock.

You should check out the Semour Duncan website. In their adds, I’ve seen little bits of research for finding tones (by adjusting the thickness of the pickup coil, etc.).
