fender bass cab
what kind of bass is used in this video?
I know the bass is a Fender Jazz Bass. I’m just not sure what kind. I’m trying to figure it out because this bass was used on the recording of an album that I quite enjoy and I really like the sound of it.
I know that amps and amp heads and pedals and all that stuff contributes immensely to the sound (I play a Les Paul through a 4×12 cab with a mesa triple rec and a line6 delay pedal) but the sound of this bass is excellent regardless.
Any suggestions? I was thinking just a regular American Standard Jazz Bass, but it’s got that extra black pickup, I’m assuming (don’t know much about bass pickups) near the control knobs, and the American Standard doesn’t have that. What is that little black piece anyway?

I think its probably just a standard Fender Jazz bass
