fender amp stand

How to change the sound of my guitar?
I just bought my Fender Squier and I was wondering how I change the noise it makes. I found out how to do acoustic and electric. But how do I make it sound cooler? It’s a fender squier with a smaller amp. Thanks !!!!!!!!!! Oh by the way if you answered my question before about which guitar to buy I ended up going to a music store and getting this guitar! Which with the amp, picks, stand, strap, bag, electric tuner, and guitar was only $199!!!!
the guitar has one switch and 3 knobs if it is a basic strat style. 2 knobs if not. the switch chooses which pickup or combination of pickups you are playing through. when the switch is set all the way up (forward) you are using the neck pickup which has a darker, somewhat bassier sound. with the switch all the way down (back) you are using the bridge pickup which has a brighter more treble sound. the in between position on the switch lets you access the middle pickup (if so equipped) in combination with the other pickups. the knobs are volume and tone controls and I advise that you leave these all the way up to get the maximum amount of signal from the guitar.
the amp is probably a fender champ or a comparable model. to get the full array of sounds refer to the instructions that came with the amp. If none were given than ask the store that you got it from to show you how to get both clean and distorted sounds.
the term “cooler” is subjective and what some think is cool others think is crap so try to describe the sound you want by naming examples of songs or guitarists that you are tring to emulate.
most of the sound comes from the amp so a basic overview of amps is as follows: looking at the amp from head on the knob furthest to the left is (usually) the gain knob, the next is (usually) bass ,then middle, then treble. some amps reverse these three or omit the middle knob. some small amps even omit all three and give you just a tone knob. the final knob is (usually) master volume (or just volume) some amps have a switch to change from a clean sound to a distortion.
for a clean sound set the gain to about 3 bass, mid ,and treble to about 5 (start with 5 and adjust according to taste) and volume to a reasonable level.
for a rock sound set the gain to about 7-8 bass@8 mid @5 treble @ 7 volume to taste.
for a metal sound gain@10 bass@7 mid@2 treble@6 volume@?
these settings are starting points, feel free to experiment.
and I strongly suggest taking some lessons to get you going in the right direction!
