Are all Fender Standard Telecasters made outside the US?

I’m on the verge of purchasing what I think is a Fender American Telecaster for $500. This is a hell of a bargain, and the guitar plays and sounds great, but I want to make sure it really is what I think it is, namely this:

The guitar says “Made in USA” under the Fender logo on the headstock, but I’m worried because I’m not sure if the cheaper Telecasters, like this one:

Might also come from the USA.

So, does saying USA on the headstock mean it’s definitely an American Tele? Or would I risk getting swindled by someone who’s passing off the Standard as American? Is there any way to check 100% to make sure it’s an American Tele and not a Standard?

Fender guitars that are part of the ‘American Series’ are made in the USA (probably in Corona, CA). Basically, if a guitar is part of the Standard series, Deluxe series or Classic series, it is made in Mexico. American Vintage, American Special, Highway 1 and Custom Shop Fenders are all made in the USA. Artist Signature series guitars can be made in the US, Mexico or Japan. If you are buying this guitar from an authorized dealer as new, you shouldn’t have to worry about them replacing the neck or trying to ‘fake’ what series it is – in other words, unless you’re buying this from a private party, if it says ‘Made in USA’ on the headstock, you can be confident it was made in the USA.
