Depending on what your bag is and how much you want to spend.. checkout Gibson Les Paul (10 yrs or older) Fender Strad (10 yrs or older) for rock music…two different sounds… For jazz Gibson L5 or older Guild ..hollow body electrics…The Ibenez copy of the L5 is a pretty first time investment…No matter what ax you pick , spend the money and have a pro music shop go over it to put it in top playing shape…and don’t forget some serious music lessons. Whatever ax you pick, try to find one built in the states.
