Would These Mods to a Telecaster work for metal and rock.?
OK, I want to get this Squire Telecaster

and I would replace the humbucker with an EMG 85 Active Humbucker and I would replace the single coil pickup with an EMG EMG-SA Alnico Single Coil Active Pickup.
Do you think that would be enough power to drive heavy distotion, if not would a Boss Metal-core pedal along with it be enough. I will award the Best answer.
Just remember, it’s not as easy to replace passive with active. Not only do you have to replace the pickups, but you have to have a place to mount a battery to power them. usually a 9 volt. You will need a cavity for the battery and a path to route the wires to the pickups.
