Fender Tele ’72 Deluxe (custom) vs. Squier?
I was thinking about purchasing a Fender Telecaster ’72 Deluxe, as most of my favorite musicians play this model. I’ve been searching online and in stores for a fairly cheap or affordable Tele and have yet to find one. I read a few reviews online about the Squier version of this model. Most of them said that parts were loose or the strings sucked or the frets were rough, etc.
Are the two guitars comparable and is the Squier worth the money? It’s only a few hundred bucks. Is the sound quality good and the quality overall good? Any problems with loose parts?
ps. I play Paramore/Good Charlotte/The Academy Is… type music.
The telecaster is a very good guitar, it is really twangy and is used in southern music a lot. If you’re looking to play more rockish music, I would suggest a Fender Stratocaster as opposed to the telecaster, but you can acheive almost the same sounds on a telecaster as that on a Stratocaster.
While the squire is a good guitar for its price and good for beginners, it doesn’t compare to the ’72 Deluxe. The few extra hundred dollars is worth it, the guitar will last you for a much longer period of time, the tone will be better, better equipment. I would only recommend a squire if you’re a beginner AND you are unsure if you want to continue the guitar.
It’s deffinetly worth the money. Also, if you’re looking into playing alternative music such as the bands you listed, I would look into getting a solid state amp just in case you’re wondering what kind of amp to get.
The Fender Frontman 212R 100 Watt amp would fit perfectly with a telecaster.
