Is it better to keep my guitar in a room with lower temperatures (~72 degrees) or lower humidity (~50%)?
I’m worried about the humidity in my room affecting my electric guitar (a Fender Telecaster). For some reason, my room (in the basement of my house) gets hot and humid during the summer. At the moment, when I don’t run my dehumidifier, the temperature is about 72 degrees F and the humidity is at 62%. When I do run it, the humidity drops substantially (to about 50%) but the temperature raises to 75-76 degress F or more . Is 62% humidity too much for an electric guitar, or do I not even have a reason to run my dehumidifier in the first place?
Both are important. Relative humidity 50 to 65 percent. Temperature 55 to 80 degrees.
