would a 1989 Fender Stratocaster ’57 Reissue be a good investment to buy?

At AU $480.00 would this gutair be good to buy ?

Hi! Good to buy as an investment (?), probably not! Good to buy as a fine-player and solid instrument at a great price (?), absolutely! The brand-new 1957 reissues sell for around $2000, and will certainly continue to rise in price each year due to inflation. I bought mine new in 1994 for $828, and thought I was paying too much! A perfect-condition guitar (reissue or not) will generally keep pace (and sometimes surpass, if a particular year is in demand) the current offerings; however, in the case of the Special Editions or customs, there is a fair chance for the guitar to truly appreciate in value over time. A 1989 Fender Stratocaster 57-reissue selling for about $346 USD is likely well-used, and will have to be thoroughly checked for function and wear. Any neck work, re-finishing, new electronics, or hardware replacements could add substantially to the overall cost of the instrument. Proceed with care! Best regards, Dana
