Is there or can you build a true telecaster bass?

I’ve seen the reissue Fender 51 and 53 P-basses. While the body is similar to the telecaster, it seems more like a hybrid of the standard P bass and Telecaster bodies. Could you get a blank telecaster body, route it for jazz pickups and associated electronics and bolt on a jazz bass neck, or would the dimensions (scale) be off if you tried that?

They actually make Telecaster Bass bodies at places like Warmoth (in a few different shapes with pre-cut pickup holes). You can definitely put a different style of neck on it if you prefer (like a Jazz bass neck…. you can probably get a tele bass neck with the radius of a jazz bass neck as well).
