fender 4 string bass
What kind of electric bass, 4-string, should I get?

II’ve been playing the 4-string bass for some time now. I want to get one for my birthday, which is coming up, so which one shouldI get? I’ve been using my teacher’s Fender Standard P-Bass meanwhile. But I cant practice at home and I HAVE to practice. I practice on my sister’s guitar meanwhile. So any suggestions? I like the Mike Dirnt P-Bass (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Squier-by-Fender-Mike-Dirnt-P-Bass-513882-i1174838.gc) and the Special Edition P-Bass (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Squier-by-Fender-Standard-P-Bass-Special-Edition-519630-i1150675.gc). So I’m thinking between those two. But are there any more suggestions? I cant have anything too expensive or un-workable. Un-stable. Whatever. But yea. Pleasies and thankies!! =D

Well, it depends on how well you already play right now. If you want that punchy, funky tone, go for the StingRay if you can afford it. It’s around $1400, but it’s really worth it. The Mike Dirnt P-Bass’ aren’t too bad, and they’re not too bad looking. If you really want it, then you should go for it. But I also think the Standard P-Bass is a nice choice too. It’s all about what YOU think is the best. Do some research, and you’ll quickly know what bass you want.
