epiphone gibson electric guitar

Gibsons/epiphone…les paul guitar… buying one… advice needed!?
My daughter is 16, and has become hugely keen on the electric guitar, and i wanted to get her the one she wants for christmas. She has a squire fender at the moment, she has had it for 3 years, but she is in to heavy metal rock, she is madly keen and been playing for an hour a dayy at least for months. She wants a good les paul.Which would you say was the best one to get? ideally she would like a gibson, but i know they are thousands. Are epiphone the same make as gibson? is there a huge difference in quality? Is it much cheaper to get one from ebay?or are they about the same price in music shops?I wouldn’t say shes a beginner because shes getting very good, but shes no an expert, which is best to get?Any other good gibson les paul copies you would recommend? Ideally i have a bbudgetof around £200, although i may be willing to go higher! Any advice aappreciated. thanks
In your budget range, your going to be looking at epiphones. You have quite a lot of options. With your budget, you could get a pretty nice epi les paul.
Heres one that’s a little below what you want to spend, low-end, but gets the job done: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-LP100-Electric-Guitar?sku=518661
Now this one is a couple hundred more, but it’s a MUCH nicer guitar. And if your daughter has been playing for 3 years, she just might deserve a guitar like this… http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Les-Paul-Standard-Plain-Top?sku=517413
It really all depends on how dedicated she is. If she plays for a while everyday, you may want to consider a gibson. But if this is just a little thing she does for fun, you might as well just get an epiphone.
