dating fender guitars by serial number
Squier Stratocaster Dating Help…..?
I have a Fender Squier Stratocaster, and I tried dating it by looking at the serial, and using the instructions on Fender’s website. I figured it would be from around 2007, but I might be wrong, I’ve never tried dating a guitar before. About a week ago, I had to do some work on the neck, and to make it easier, I took the neck off, and inside the pocket, and on the back of the neck (where it bolts on) it said August 1997. So I’m not sure when it’s from, can anyone help? The serial number is NC751074 and it is on the Neck Plate of the guitar. Thanks.
Hello, Eric! Your serial number beginning with CN7 would indicate the country-of-manufacture being Korea, made by Cor-Tek (Cort) in 1997. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squier for more details. Best regards, Dana
