classic fender amps

Peavey stereo chorus 212 or fender frontman 212r?? ?
Im looking for a good, solid amp. Im getting a Epiphone les paul custom and want a decent amp to go with it. Distortion is NOT a factor because I plan on getting a boss ds 1 pedal and play it through the clean channel. An amp with reverb, or some overdrive would be good. I like to play classic rock, alternative, and some metal…. acdc, metasllica, iron maiden, etc. I also have an acoustic electric, and want the amp to give a nice acoustic sound. Wich of the 2 amps is my best bet?
I was never a big fan of Peavey until I got ahold of an older ‘Roadmaster’ tube head. This thing is louder than hell, and will rock your cock off.
The best bet is to find a shop that will let you try them out (I’m not a big fan of corporate places like guitar center, but I will go there to try out stuff, and then try to find a smaller local shop to buy from). I will always bring my guitar and fx so I know exactly what it will sound like – and don’t be scared to crank it up a bit. There is nothing worse than finding a ‘great sounding’ amp, only to take it home and find out that it lacks balls.
You are headed the right direction with a 2×12 combo – they are small enough to lug around, perfect for jam sessions, but are loud enough for smaller venues (and can always be mic’ed, or run line out to a P/A).
Try as many as you can, and see what works for you, and the kind of music you are playing – as far as the accoustic/electric, they make amps that are specifically for them, but most people that I know will just plug line-in to the P/A or use a mic. – you can get accoustic pre-amps that help you be able to adjust your sound.
Good luck!!
