change fender guitar strings
How do I tell if my guitar takes nylon or steel strings?

I had already taken the old strings off, thrown them away and purchased steel Martin acoustic strings. However, the pitch is very off – even when tight, the strings give off the sound of seeming loose (very unclear). Then it occurred to me that perhaps the strings were nylon? I just recently received it, so this is my first time changing its strings. If it helps, the model is a Fender Gemini III. Thanks!

Its for sure a steel stringed guitar!

Maybe you tuned it wrong or these could be something wrong with the body, the strings could be so new so they aren’t stretched out, the tuning pegs might be broken and unscrewed!

It could be any number of things, but it is definitely not a nylon string guitar, those who say its the same thing obviously have never owned a nylon string, stringing a nylon is not the same as stringing a steel stringed.

I suggest you take it to a friend or a music teacher at your school and ask, because thats never happened to me all I can say is… Once your strings begin to leave your hands smelling like metal and they look black you should get new ones :)
