blue fender acoustic guitar
what brand of strings and gauge are good for a cheap guitar?

i dont own a steel string acoustic, and im borrowing a friends.this is a fender he said he paid about $80 for and so if any one out there can guess this model. I know i want a heavier gauge but not ridiculous. Something in between for a strong resonate bright sound in standard tuning and heavy enough for blues tuned down half a step….experienced guitar players who have tried different strings. If this helps any i prefer d’addario .10 over ernieball .10…..i wouldnt have a problem playing a heavier gauge of strings.
regular light gauge is for me i could use elevens but the hammer ons and pull offs dont ring out the way i want them…..but for acoustic i think i will try the .12 thank you

DR isn’t bad. Elixirs get a lot of hype, but aren’t really that fantastic.
I personally have more experience with acoustic, but IIRC standard for electric is .11, so .10′s are on the light side.
Personally, I play .12′s on both electric and acoustic, though I wish there were cheaper, thicker strings for electric. I also love D’Addario, but if you’re gonna be playing muddy blues, try Cleartones or Martins.
