What PA system should my band use?
We are a small band just starting out on gigs and on a kind of low budget. We dont want anything in the thousands yet. Our guitarist has a Marshall amp 60W that produces more than enough sound. Bassist a Fender bassman 150W produces enough sound. We just need a PA system to hear it all.(we have never had a PA system before this would be our first, we use an amp right now.)
Get in touch w/ a local soundperson or company. Get them to come & listen to you practice. When you have a gig give them all the specifics and rent what ever you (all) decide is the appropriate sized system.
It should include mics & stands (for vox & drums, maybe you have yer own), mains speakers (maybe subwoofs), monitor spkrs (at least for the vocalists), the amps to drive it all and a mixer. Be prepared to pay at least a couple hundred $$ (but maybe you can work something out, like the 1st one’s free, percentage of door or ?). Feel free to email me if you want more details.
