american strat fender

I want to harvest tuners in a Fender American Start?
Does anyone know if the vintage tuners (tuners 1960 style) that fit on a new 2008 American Start? or I'll have to make some holes and add a string tree? Also if someone has tried this I want to know how you like. Thanks
I've never tried before, but off the top of my head, I think that probably would not be much problem. I have not looked at the tuner a new start time. I bought a new American luxury brand in 1979 and served for over 20 years, so I did not need to look at. But the head that the guitar was the newer style head bigger. Today's Strats have the old style vintage head. But from the necks and nuts are probably more or less equal I guess the string space and distance from the bridge is probably the same, too. I think they would pop right in. I liked the older tuners style, with the hole in the top, which made changing strings a snap. And eliminates the funky chain ends hanging off the tuner. (Although they were good to stick a lit cigarette during the game) to realize that the new Defenders only have the string of a tree. I think mine had two. This is exactly what looked like mine: http://www.strat-central.com/pics/strats/19711981/79front.jpg You can see the two trees. But as his only one, probably not need another. Although you may not be hard to add one if necessary. I changed tuners line before a string of 12 acoustic before. I found an old 12 String friends garage. Everything was in disrepair, so he said I could have. Missing a few tuners in the set, so I went and bought a tuner 12 generic tanga and went right in, because I think of intonation and scaling places tuner holes are practically unbreakable. I do not see how his guitar would be different.
