2008 fender american standard telecaster
Fender: Strat or Tele?
Hi everyone!
ok, here’s the deal:
This friday I’m (finally!) going to by an american Fender guitar. The guitar shop I’m going to has both the Telecaster and the Stratocaster. My question is basically: Which one do you think is better?
The guitars are both the same price and they’re both “New American Standard” guitars from 2008. Basically, it’s the same guitar, just one is a Strat and one is a Tele, so don’t include price and the like as a determining factor.
So, which do you prefer?

arg… I meant “buy” in the first line. stupid typos…
i like the teles a ot better for 2 reasons:
1)they are typically better quality. i have played american teles and strats and i liked the tele more. it had better action, a smoother fretboard and great stock pickups. the strat was alright but not as good imo.
2) too many people have strats. i see strats all the time, no matter if its american or mexican, its a very overused guitar style to me (as in, the shape of the guitar) even other companies make guitars that look almost exaclty like it, while the tele, i know esp makes one similar but i only know one guitarist who even has that style of guitar (he has an american tele)
